So managing obesity is quite literally a personal, or person-centered, treatment. Long gone are the days for everybody would follow the same exact regimen to lose weight. In my practice I personally have canceled hundreds of people with varying levels of guilt associated with their weight. A lot of practitioners urge their patients to lose weight, without exactly giving them the tools they need to succeed.
The American Diabetes Association, or ADA, has a division that it recently acquired, named The Obesity Association.
